Dr. Meredith Thomas trained at Humane Alliance located in Ashville, NC, which specializes in high volume quality spays and neuters. She's performed over seven thousand spays & neuters since graduating veterinary school, and is particularly experienced performing pediatric spays/neuters.
She also has experience spaying and neutering rabbits, and castrating younger pot belly pigs and goats. Dr. Thomas is a proponent of spaying and neutering for several reasons: it prevents pet overpopulation, decreases female pet from developing breast tumors and uterine infections, decreases male pets from fighting, and protects against forming prostate enlargement and prostate/testicular cancer.

The saying an "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is indeed true, as preventive care is the main method of protecting your pet from contracting deadly viruses and diseases. We provide wellness services throughout a pet's entire life stages. Thorough examination leading into recommended vaccination protocols are based on pet's age. Routine intestinal parasite exams, Heartworm tests for dogs, FIV/Leukemia testing for cats, and additional wellness bloodwork for early disease detection are all available and tests done in house. We carry a variety of flea, tick, heartworm prevention medications, as well as prescription Hill's food and various supplements. Additional, our clinic offers pet dental cleanings. Rest assured your pet will receive the best possible care at all times. When working up sick cases we are able to use our in house diagnostic machines. We utilize Idexx bloodwork equipment along with an Idexx urinalysis machine. We also have capability to take digital radiographs. Anesthetized patients are hooked up to an EKG and pulseoximeter monitoring systems. We offer a variety of soft tissue surgeries too. These type surgeries/procedures require a veterinarian exam and then an itemized estimate is provided beforehand. Examples include tail amputations, tumor/mass excisions, bladder stone removal, abdominal exploratories, entropion surgery, and more. We also see and handle common ear infection treatments which require sedation to flush ears out. Outpatient procedures are scheduled nearly every business day.
Our facilities are air conditioned & heated to make sure your pets are as comfortable staying with us as they are at home. Every pet is given plenty of love and TLC while at our facility. We walk our canine friends multiple times daily around our 5+ acres. We will always contact you at the emergency number you provide should your pet require any medical treatment or veterinary procedures performed while you are away.
Our pet boarding area is a flea-free facility, so your pet must have proper flea prevention and be free of fleas at check-in. For the safety and well-being of all of our guests, the following vaccinations must also be up-to-date:
**If fleas are seen on your pet while here, they will be treated and bathed at an additional fee**
**Drop off and pick up times are during our regular business hours only. If your pet is still here when we close, an additional day will be added to their stay**

We gladly offer baths and shave downs. Appointments should be made for these services. If you request a medicated shampoo be used our staff can make recommendations. Our baths also include nail trim, express anal glands, and cleaning out ears. Dogs must be up to date on the following vaccines: Rabies, Parvo Booster, and Kennel Cough while cats must be up to date on Rabies and an Upper Respiratory Booster. We use Davis shampoo and have a high pressure blower dryer that's great to get dogs with lots of fur dry and fluffy. Cats sometimes need sedated for baths. Baths are priced accordingly by weight.
